Rohini Mengale – Tailoring

Rohini lives in Hetkarnagar in Neral. Rohini studied only till seventh standard and since she was the oldest in her family, she got married at a young age. She had a very troubled married life and hence, got divorced after a year of marriage. Rohini moved back to her parents’ house and picked up odd jobs to start earning something. Rohini was distressed and couldn’t figure out what to do or where to go. After several months, her friends told her about Kotwalwadi and she acquired knowledge of the different programs conducted by Kotwalwadi Trust. She visited the centre and was extremely satisfied with the people and the program.

Rohini pursued the basic as well as advanced tailoring course. After completing the course, Rohini set up a small shop in her house and she has been getting sufficient orders for altering and stitching blouses and other garments. Rohini manages to earn INR 3000 to 3500 per month through her tailoring business. Rohini is extremely happy with her independence and she has even adopted her nephew as her own. Rohini looks after him and takes care of all his expenses including education by herself. She is extremely grateful to LTPCT and Kotwalwadi Trust for this life changing opportunity and the support that they have provided to tribal women in Neral.
