BUILDING CAPABILITIES FOR IMPACT:
LTPCT HOSTS CAPACITY-BUILDING PROGRAMMES AT L&T SKILL DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY
- 19 February 2026
Strengthening institutions begins with strengthening people. With this belief, Larsen & Toubro Public Charitable Trust (LTPCT) organised a five-day capacity-building programme for its education and health implementation teams at the L&T Skill Development Academy (STA), Madh Island, from 9 to 12 December 2025.
The programme brought together two key stakeholder groups—the Centre for Teacher Training (CTT) Vidyaa programme team and health teams from Community Health Centres (CHCs)—to enhance professional skills, improve service delivery, and encourage innovation across sectors.

The first phase, held from 9 to 11 December, focused on capacity building for the Vidyaa and CTT team, with sessions led by experts from STA. Participants were introduced to the STA Training Excellence Framework and Quality Framework, covering training methodologies, quality management systems, and post-training processes. The sessions emphasised standardisation, outcome orientation, and adherence to quality benchmarks in large-scale education programmes.
Keeping pace with evolving learning environments, the programme also explored the use of AI-powered tools, Microsoft and Google platforms, and student engagement technologies to enrich classroom delivery. A virtual reality demonstration offered participants a glimpse into immersive learning tools that can enhance comprehension and engagement.
On 11 December, the programme featured a special workshop by Dr Vasudha Kamat, former Vice-Chancellor of SNDT University, Mumbai. The session focused on the National Curricular Framework and the Foundation Stage, helping educators align classroom practices with national education priorities.
The second phase, held on 11 and 12 December, brought together teams from Community Health Centres. The programme began with best-practice knowledge sharing across CHCs, fostering peer learning and reflection. Sessions on Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) examined current practices and future pathways for data-driven healthcare delivery, followed by a session on the role of digital and visual technologies in medical advancement.
The concluding day focused on personal effectiveness, time management, and soft skills, alongside hands-on exposure to AI and digital presentation tools, enabling health professionals to strengthen both technical and interpersonal competencies.
By creating a shared learning platform for education and health teams, LTPCT reinforced its commitment to capacity building as a cornerstone of sustainable development. The programme not only enhanced skills but also encouraged cross-sector learning, ensuring that those working closest to communities are better equipped to deliver meaningful, long-term impact.
